Commends Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity for 116 years of community service and leadership since its founding on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Recognizes the fraternity as the first and oldest intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African-Americans, with close to 800 chapters and 200,000 members globally.

Notes prominent members including Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., W.E.B. DuBois, Paul Robeson, Thurgood Marshall, and Jesse Owens, and acknowledges the fraternity's role in conceiving, funding, and constructing the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

Highlights Arkansas chapters' service since 1926 and includes prominent Arkansas members such as the Mayor of Little Rock Frank D. Scott Jr., University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Chancellor Laurence B. Alexander, and various state legislators.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the House to provide a copy of this resolution to Jeramaine O. Netherly, Southwestern Region Vice President, and Terence T. Cox, Arkansas District Director, of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
