Recognizes Jane Lucas for her service and dedication to the State of Arkansas and persons with disabilities.

Ms. Lucas served as Executive Director at Group Living, Inc. from 1975 for over 42 years and currently serves in a director emerita position.

She was a pioneer in helping adults with developmental disabilities, founded the Arkansas Developmental Disabilities Provider Association in the region, and served on multiple boards advocating for disability rights.

During her tenure, Ms. Lucas helped create jobs for clients including the Beehive Resale Store, housecleaning services, and the Honeycomb Restaurant; after a 2005 fire destroyed the resale store, she led efforts to reopen it within 12 days to serve Hurricane Katrina displaced persons.

Ms. Lucas was the first woman inducted into the Rotary Club of Arkadelphia in 1988 and became the first woman District Governor in Arkansas.
