AR SB201

Allows a wet city that annexed a portion of a defunct township (previously voted dry) to hold a one-time local option election within the annexed area to permit off-premises alcoholic beverage sales.

Requires a local option election to be called by petition signed by registered voters equal to 38% of the registered voters in the annexed area, conducted under § 3-8-201 et seq.

Severs all ties between the annexed area and the defunct township regarding alcoholic beverages if voters approve off-premises permits, allowing the annexed area to retain the same alcohol sales rights as the annexing city or town.

Applies retroactively only to defunct township areas annexed before the act's effective date and only to first-class wet cities with mayor-council government contiguous to an active-duty U.S. Air Force military installation.

Expires on December 31, 2024; expiration does not affect rights already acquired or pending suits.
