Vote center locations for elections must remain the same as the preceding general election unless changed by order of the county board of election commissioners.

In runoff elections in counties using only vote centers, runoff vote centers must be located within precincts where qualified electors are eligible to vote in that runoff.

When a runoff election is held in a vote center-only county with no vote center in one or more participating precincts, the county board must establish one or more new vote centers before publishing the election notice or open a vote center at the county seat as a backup option.

County boards cannot change vote center locations less than 60 days before a preferential primary or general election, or less than 30 days before other elections, except in emergencies.

County boards may establish a new vote center less than 30 days before any election if a majority determines existing vote centers do not adequately serve the county's qualified electors, and any such new center must be included in the election notice.
