SB 287 Summary

• Amends Arkansas Code § 14-17-208(l) to require county planning board approval before plats in unincorporated county areas can be presented for recording, and requires county court acceptance of roads for perpetual maintenance and any land dedications for public purposes.

• Modifies Arkansas Code § 14-56-417(b)(3)(B) to prohibit deeds or other instruments of transfer from being presented for recording unless they involve a lot or parcel that is platted and on file or accompanied by a planning commission-approved plat.

• Amends Arkansas Code § 14-56-417(c) to require planning commission approval before plats within a municipality's intended territorial jurisdiction area can be presented for recording, if a planning commission exists.

• Modifies Arkansas Code § 17-48-105(b) to prohibit maps, plats, surveys, or other land surveying documents from being presented for filing or recording unless they bear the impressed personal signature and seal of the licensed professional surveyor who prepared them.
