SB381 Summary

• Adds mandatory annual training requirement for members of city, county, and school board governing bodies on Freedom of Information Act requirements

• Training must be at least one (1) hour in duration and conducted either in-person or via live video conference by a person knowledgeable about the Freedom of Information Act

• Training sessions must be open to the public

• Training must cover newly enacted legislation, new court precedent from Arkansas Supreme Court or Court of Appeals, public meeting requirements, public records requirements, and rules and best practices for responding to public records requests
