Stone County was created as Arkansas's 74th county on April 21, 1873, and the Senate recognizes and celebrates its 150th anniversary.

Stone County is located in the Ozark Mountains and is home to Blanchard Springs Caverns, Ozark National Forest, and the Sylamore Shooting range, as well as destinations for trout fishing in the White River and mountain biking.

The county is known as "The Folk Music Capitol of the World" due to nightly musicians performing on the Square, the annual Arkansas Folk Festival held every April since 1963, and the Ozark Folk Center which supports traditional mountain folk music and crafts.

The 150th anniversary celebration is led by the Stone County Historical Society, the Stone County Leader newspaper, and a community committee with the slogan "Rock Solid at 150 – Foundation for Our Future" to help fund youth-oriented services at the Stone County Community Center.

Upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be provided to County Judge Stacey Avey by the Secretary of the Senate.
