House of Representatives extends birthday wishes to Bishop Donne Lee Lindsey, Sr. on his 100th birthday on April 17, 1924

Bishop Lindsey earned a Bachelor of Arts from Arkansas Baptist College and completed graduate work at Fisk University and Tuskegee University, holding honorary doctorates from Arkansas Baptist College and Shorter College

Served as Bishop of the Second Jurisdiction of Arkansas COGIC from 1974 until retirement in 2009, and currently serves as Prelate Emeritus

Founded Lindsey's Barbecue in North Little Rock and served as principal of George Washington Carver School in Allport, Arkansas

First African American to serve on North Little Rock City Council, Chamber of Commerce, and Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors; inducted into Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2015
