Van Buren High School Pointers Wrestling Team won the 2023-2024 Class 5A State Wrestling Championship on February 24, 2024, with 173 points, defeating second-place Lakeside High School by 43 points.

Team won the Class 5A Dual State Wrestling Championship on February 3, 2024, by defeating Lakeside High School.

This marks the team's third consecutive Class 5A State Wrestling Championship and third consecutive Class 5A Dual State Wrestling Championship for a total of six state titles in three years.

Five individual wrestlers won state championships: Don O'Kelley (113 lb.), Dakota Fenwick (120 lb.), Owen Camera (126 lb.), Alex Reed (138 lb.), and Alex Lopez (144 lb.), with nine total wrestlers placing in individual events.

Team placed first in the Gravette Tournament, Berryville Tournament, Pulaski Academy Tournament, and North Regional Tournament for the second consecutive year, and is coached by John Petree and Dakota Petree.
