Van Buren High School Pointers Wrestling Team won the 2023-2024 Class 5A State Wrestling Championship on February 24, 2024, with 173 points, defeating second-place Lakeside High School by 43 points

Team won the 2024 Class 5A Dual State Wrestling Championship on February 3, 2024, by defeating Lakeside High School

Achieved third consecutive Class 5A State Wrestling Championship and Class 5A Dual State Wrestling Championship, totaling six state titles in three years

Five wrestlers won individual state championships: Don O'Kelley (113 lb.), Dakota Fenwick (120 lb.), Owen Camera (126 lb.), Alex Reed (138 lb.), and Alex Lopez (144 lb.), with three wrestlers earning second consecutive titles

Team placed first in four tournaments: Gravette, Berryville, Pulaski Academy, and North Regional Tournament for the second consecutive year; coached by John Petree and Dakota Petree
