Arkansas Senate recognizes and commends the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) on its fiftieth anniversary in 2025

NCSL was founded in 1975 from a merger of three organizations and serves as the premier bipartisan organization dedicated to state and territorial legislators and legislative staff

NCSL's three core objectives are to advance effectiveness, independence, and integrity of state legislatures; foster interstate communication and cooperation; and ensure states a strong voice in the federal system

Arkansas Senate notes that Ann Cornwell, Director and Secretary of the Senate, has served on the NCSL Executive Committee, and Sabrina NeKay Evelyn Lewellen, Deputy Director and Assistant Secretary of the Senate, became the first African-American woman and first Arkansan elected as NCSL Staff Chair in 2023

Upon adoption, a copy of the resolution shall be provided to the National Conference of State Legislatures
