Mr. Curtis Olan Ferguson of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on June 16, 2024, after moving to Benton from Crows Station in the late 1950s.

Founded Ferguson's Town & Country Furniture, TVs & Appliances in 1963 with his wife Vera Richardson and later developed Ferguson's Furniture; worked his way up to youngest manager in the Memphis region for Goodyear before starting his business.

Advocated for local businesses as an outspoken voice for equal tax treatment between online companies and local businesses, served as President of the Benton Chamber of Commerce, and helped secure the land and building for the current Chamber location.

Instilled work ethic in his children and grandchildren through tailor-made jobs at his furniture store known as the "Curtis school of hard knocks" and was instrumental in developing the Benton and Bryant area.

The Senate expresses sincere condolences to his family and commends his contributions to Arkansas; a copy of this resolution will be provided to his family by the Secretary of the Senate.
