Remote monitoring technology must be HIPAA-compliant, FDA-approved, and capable of securely transmitting health data to healthcare providers for interpretation

Remote fetal nonstress tests will be reimbursed under CPT code 5905 at the same rate as in-person clinic tests, using FDA-approved devices for monitoring fetal heart rate, maternal heart rate, and uterine activity

Department of Human Services must apply for any necessary federal waivers or state plan amendments and adopt implementing rules by January 1, 2026
