County boards of election commissioners must hold a public meeting at least 72 days before the general election to determine ballot order by lot drawing

Candidates may draw for their own ballot position or designate someone to draw on their behalf, but a designee cannot represent more than one candidate at the same meeting

Drawing order proceeds in three tiers: first candidates appearing in person (by filing date/time), then designated representatives (by their candidate's filing date/time), then election commissioners for absent candidates without designees

Public notice of the ballot draw meeting must be published in a county newspaper at least 3 days before the drawing

Ballot order for runoff elections remains the same as the previous election that led to the runoff
