School nurses would be reclassified from "classified employees" and required to receive minimum base salaries equal to classroom teachers starting with the 2027-2028 school year

School nurses with a bachelor's degree and zero years of experience must receive the same base salary as classroom teachers with equivalent qualifications in the same district

Registered nurses without a bachelor's degree must receive at least 90% of the comparable classroom teacher base salary

Licensed practical nurses without a bachelor's degree must receive at least 80% of the comparable classroom teacher base salary

School districts cannot lower current salaries of nurses already earning above the new required schedule, and the House and Senate Education Committees must jointly review funding costs during the biennial adequacy review process
