Third-party contractors performing independent assessments for home- and community-based services must complete those assessments within 30 days of the initial application

The Department of Human Services must implement an abbreviated independent assessment process, including desk reviews, for beneficiaries who have previously been approved for home- and community-based services

DHS is required to apply for any federal waivers, Medicaid state plan amendments, or other authorizations necessary to implement these requirements
