County law library boards must now include one circuit court judge and one district court judge residing in or presiding over courts in the county, appointed by the county court in addition to the existing 3-5 attorney members

Judicial appointments to the board serve 2-year terms beginning on the first day of January following a general election, and may serve consecutive or nonconsecutive terms

Existing attorney board members continue to serve 5-year terms with staggered expiration dates, while counties with fewer than 3 practicing attorneys may appoint qualified resident electors to fill board positions

County courts must make initial judicial appointments within 30 days of the act's effective date, with those initial terms expiring on January 1 following the next general election

Vacancies for judicial positions are filled by the county court for the remainder of the unexpired term
