Homeschooled students in grades 7-10 may begin participating in varsity athletic activities at public or private schools immediately if approved by June 1 (changed from July 1); those not approved by June 1 are ineligible for varsity athletics for up to 365 days

Students transferring to nonpublic schools who enroll by June 1 for grades 7-10 are immediately eligible for athletic activities; late enrollees face up to 365 days of varsity athletic ineligibility

Transfer students under the Arkansas Opportunity Public School Choice Act and Public School Choice Act of 2015 must enroll by June 1 (changed from July 1) for grades 7-10 to gain immediate athletic eligibility

All transferring students must complete a Changing Schools/Athletic Participation form signed by both sending and receiving school officials and a parent/guardian, unless there is evidence of recruiting or transfer solely for athletic purposes

Declared an emergency, effective upon Governor's approval (signed April 8, 2025), citing the need for schools to plan budgets and staffing while giving students time to assess school choice options
