Host fee agreements between solid waste landfills and host communities (the county and city where the landfill is located) are limited to maximum 4-year contract terms ending in December of even-numbered years

Contracts may be renewed for additional 4-year terms at the same fee amount or renegotiated for a new fee amount, with no limit on the number of renewals

All host fee contracts must have a defined beginning and end date, prohibiting perpetual fee arrangements

Host fee agreements must be voted on at a regularly scheduled meeting of the host community and signed by the mayor or county judge
