Public entities in Arkansas must create an artificial intelligence and automated decision tool policy that defines authorized uses of AI and requires a human employee to make all final decisions regardless of AI recommendations

Public entities must develop employee training programs covering technology resources, cybersecurity, and appropriate use of AI and automated decision tools in workplace decisions

"Artificial intelligence" is defined as a machine-based system that makes predictions, recommendations, or decisions based on human-defined objectives; "automated decision tool" means AI systems specifically designed to make or control consequential decisions

Covered public entities include all state departments, constitutional officers' offices, political subdivisions, public school districts, charter schools, and institutions of higher education

Public entities must establish disciplinary procedures for violations of technology resources and AI policies, and state entity AI policies must be available to the public upon request
