Arkansas House Memorial Resolution honoring former U.S. Representative Beryl Anthony, Jr. of El Dorado, who passed away January 11, 2025, at age 86

Anthony served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1978 to 1993, including on the House Ways and Means Committee where he championed rural healthcare and public infrastructure legislation

Prior to Congress, he served as Union County prosecuting attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial District from 1971 to 1976

He helped Arkansas farmers and municipal officials gain tax-favored bond financing for schools and worked with Senators Bumpers and Pryor in 1985 to renovate Fordyce Bathhouse in Hot Springs

Resolution directs the Chief Clerk to provide a copy to Anthony's surviving family, including wife Sheila Anthony (former Federal Trade Commissioner and Assistant U.S. Attorney General), two daughters, and five granddaughters
