Arkansas House Resolution commending Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for 118 years of service and leadership since its founding on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University

Alpha Phi Alpha is the first and oldest intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans, now with nearly 800 chapters and 200,000 members globally

The fraternity was directly responsible for the conception, funding, and construction of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Arkansas chapters have served communities and campuses throughout the state since 1926, with notable Arkansas members including current Mayor of Little Rock Frank D. Scott, Jr., Senator Reginald Murdock, and Representative Jay Richardson

Resolution directs the Chief Clerk to provide a copy to the Southwestern Region Vice President and Arkansas District Director of the fraternity
