Earned a Bachelor of Arts from Philander Smith College and holds affiliations with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Scipio A. Jones Alumni Choir, and other community organizations

Received multiple recognitions including Woman of Distinction for Longevity and Faithful Service (1999), Leader Within the Community by Stand! News (2006), and NAACP Outstanding Services award (2017)

Resolution directs the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to present a copy to Charlotte Thomas upon adoption
