Arkansas Medicaid Program must authorize certified nurse aides (CNAs) providing in-home services to perform additional care and duties beyond their current scope

CNAs must be appropriately trained on any skill being performed or assisted with before providing the additional care

Beneficiary or their representative must consent to the CNA performing the expanded care and duties

Exclusion applies to CNAs working in in-patient settings or skilled nursing facilities—only those providing in-home services are covered

Department of Human Services must apply for any federal waivers or Medicaid state plan amendments necessary to implement the expanded CNA scope
