Arkansas joins the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact, allowing dentists and dental hygienists licensed in participating states to practice across state lines through a "Compact Privilege" without obtaining additional state licenses

Licensees must hold an unrestricted license in a participating state, pass National Board Examinations, complete a clinical assessment, graduate from an accredited program, and meet any jurisprudence requirements in remote states

Active military members and their spouses are exempt from Commission fees for obtaining a Compact Privilege

The Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners will administer the compact and must promulgate implementing rules by January 1, 2026

The compact becomes effective when enacted by seven states and establishes a Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact Commission to oversee administration, maintain a data system for licensure and disciplinary information, and enforce compliance among participating states
