Sponsors of initiative or referendum petitions must submit the full text, certified ballot title, certified popular name, and Attorney General certification letter to the Secretary of State within 5 business days of beginning to gather signatures

Secretary of State must post the proposed measure information on their website within 5 days of receiving it, where it remains until the day after the next general election

Secretary of State may remove posted information if the measure fails to qualify, the sponsor requests removal and is no longer gathering signatures, the measure is removed from the ballot by court order, or the submitted language doesn't match what's actually being circulated

Secretary of State may independently obtain and post measure information from the Attorney General if a petition is actively circulating but the sponsor hasn't submitted the required information

Sponsor's failure to comply with posting requirements cannot be used as grounds for the Secretary of State to invalidate the proposed measure or any signatures collected
