Amends the Uniform Attendance and Leave Policy Act to add death of an immediate family member as a qualifying reason for catastrophic leave with pay for public employees

Defines "immediate family member" to include father, mother, sister, brother, spouse, child, grandparents, grandchildren, in-laws, and anyone acting as parent or guardian of the employee

Provides up to 40 hours of paid catastrophic leave per calendar year for bereavement, which must be used within the first 4 weeks after the death

Employees using bereavement leave are not required to exhaust sick or annual leave first and do not accrue leave while on this type of catastrophic leave

Unused bereavement leave does not carry over to the next calendar year and is not compensable upon termination or retirement
