Extends the reimbursement period for law enforcement training costs from 18 months to 24 months after an officer completes academy training

Simplifies the reimbursement structure to two tiers: 100% reimbursement if the officer is hired within 12 months of training completion, and 50% reimbursement if hired between 12-24 months (replacing the previous five-tier system ranging from 20% to 100%)

Requires reimbursement requests to be submitted in writing with an itemized cost list within 6 months of the officer being hired by a new agency

Mandates the Division of Law Enforcement Standards and Training to notify previous employing agencies when an officer who completed training within the last 24 months is hired elsewhere

Effective January 1, 2026; approved April 17, 2025
