Lieutenant General (Retired) Jay B. Silveria was appointed by the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees to serve as President of the University of Arkansas System beginning January 15, 2025, succeeding Dr. Donald R. Bobbitt.

Silveria previously served as Superintendent of the United States Air Force Academy and as Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Texas A&M University's Bush School of Government & Public Service in Washington, D.C.

He is a command pilot with more than 3,900 flight hours in F-15 and F-35 fighter jets, earning the Distinguished Service Medal and Bronze Star Medal among other decorations.

The University of Arkansas System includes 20 campuses, divisions, and units across the state.

The Senate formally welcomes Silveria and directs the Secretary of the Senate to provide him a copy of the resolution upon adoption.
