Arkansas Senate honors Kevin Kresse, a Little Rock native sculptor, for creating the bronze statue of Johnny Cash now displayed in the National Statuary Hall Collection at the U.S. Capitol

Kresse's Johnny Cash sculpture is one of two statues representing Arkansas in the nation's capital

Kresse received the Governor's Art Award for Individual Artist in 2015 and was selected by the Mid-America Arts Alliance in 2016 as one of only four artists to represent the Alliance at the 50th anniversary of the National Endowment for the Arts

Kresse's other notable works include busts of Arkansas musicians Levon Helm and Al Green, the Breaking the Cycle sculpture at Little Rock's Riverfront Park, and the Mother Earth fountain at North Little Rock's Argenta Art Park

Upon adoption, the Secretary of the Senate will present a copy of the resolution to Kevin Kresse
