HB2025 Summary

• Amends Arizona chiropractic licensing laws by replacing the term "physiotherapy" with "physical medicine modalities and therapeutic procedures" throughout relevant statutes.

• Establishes new definitions for "physical medicine modalities" (thermal, acoustic, light, mechanical or electric energy applications) and "therapeutic procedures" (therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, massage, structural supports).

• Requires business entities offering chiropractic services to establish written protocols for secure storage, transfer and access of patient medical records, including procedures for patient notification, record disposal, and timely response to records requests.

• Exempts sole proprietorships, partnerships, professional corporations, professional LLCs, licensed facilities, estate administrators, and licensed health care institutions from the medical records protocol requirements.

• Establishes violation of the medical records protocol requirements as a class 6 felony offense.
