HB 2614 Summary: Large Electronics Recycling Program

• Prohibits manufacturers and retailers from selling covered electronic devices unless they are labeled with a registered brand, and requires free collection and recycling services to consumers with no charges except for premium services like scheduled pickup.

• Establishes a Covered Electronic Devices Fund from collected fees to pay for program implementation and enforcement, and prohibits disposal of covered electronic devices in landfills or solid waste facilities beginning January 1, 2013, with civil penalties up to $10,000 per day for violations.

• Program is set to terminate on July 1, 2020 under Arizona's automatic termination laws.
