AZ HCR2009

Proposes an amendment to Article IX, Section 12 of the Arizona Constitution to prohibit death taxes.

Removes language authorizing the state to levy direct inheritance, legacy, and succession taxes.

Adds new subsection B prohibiting the state, counties, cities, towns, and other taxing jurisdictions from imposing, levying, or collecting any estate, inheritance, legacy, succession, death tax, or generation-skipping tax.

Requires the Secretary of State to submit the proposition to voters at the next general election for approval.
