SB 1171 Summary

• Adds section 27-1277 to Arizona Revised Statutes requiring mine owners or operators to submit annual status reports to the state mine inspector within 60 days of their reclamation plan anniversary date.

• Annual reports must include acreage of surface disturbance and reclamation conducted during the year, total cumulative acreage disturbed and reclaimed, aggregate mining operation status, and any changes to owner, operator, or regulatory contact information.

• Inspector may request additional information to supplement or clarify submitted reports, but reports are automatically accepted if the inspector does not respond within 30 days of receipt.

• Applies to all existing and future aggregate mining plans effective upon the bill's enactment.
