Allows state elected officials subject to term limits to elect not to participate in the elected officials' retirement plan (EORP) and instead participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).

Permits state elected officials with more than 20 years of credited service in EORP to opt out of EORP participation but allows them to elect into ASRS within 30 days of assuming office.

Requires elections regarding EORP or ASRS participation to be made in writing within 30 days of assuming office, with elections being specific to each term of office.

Changes terminology from "prior to" to "before" regarding accrued benefits from service before election to term-limited office.

Modifies default provisions so that state elected officials with more than 20 years of EORP service who fail to make an election are deemed not to participate in EORP unless they elect to join ASRS.
