SB 1300 Summary

• Establishes that 11 specified agricultural funds are held in trust by the Department of Agriculture and shall be used exclusively for departmental operations and implementing the missions for which they are held.

• Designates the following funds as agricultural trust funds: agricultural consultation and training fund, seed law fund, commercial feed fund, fertilizer materials fund, pesticide fund, dangerous plants/pests/diseases fund, livestock custody fund, state egg inspection fund, aquaculture fund, Arizona protected native plant fund, and citrus/fruit/vegetable revolving fund.

• Provides that monies in these trust funds are continuously appropriated and exempt from lapsing of appropriations under Arizona Revised Statutes section 35-190, allowing funds to carry forward without expiring annually.
