AZ SB1396

Prohibits Arizona courts from citing or basing judicial determinations on resolutions, rulings, policies, laws or determinations from foreign nations, international courts, the United Nations, or agreements between individuals and foreign nations.

Exception allows courts to apply foreign law when required by the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution (Article VI, Clause 2).

Requires Arizona courts to refuse recognition of foreign country defamation judgments unless the foreign court's defamation law provided at least as much protection for freedom of speech and press as both the U.S. and Arizona Constitutions.
