AZ SB1404

Adds section 15-249 to Arizona Revised Statutes allowing the Department of Education to evaluate and recommend products such as curriculum programs, technology programs, and software applications to school districts and charter schools.

Department of Education may only recommend products when independent research demonstrates the product is clearly superior for pupils or improves administrative efficiency.

Requires the Department of Education to develop evaluation and recommendation criteria to implement this authority.

Prohibits the Department of Education from using this authority to require school districts or charter schools to purchase any specific products.
