SB 1414 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 48-3713 to expand the powers of multi-county water conservation districts regarding energy acquisition and use.

• Broadens language to allow districts to acquire "power, generation and transmission resources of every kind" rather than limiting acquisition to electricity or other forms of energy for operating the central Arizona project.

• Permits districts to sell, resell, deliver or distribute electricity or other forms of energy acquired by the district under the expanded authority, except to retail electric customers.

• Makes grammatical corrections replacing "which" with "that" in several subsections throughout the statute.

• Maintains exemption for energy acquisitions from state or municipal transaction privilege and use taxes, effective retroactively to taxable years beginning after December 31, 1984.
