HB 2016 Summary

• Eliminates numerous reporting requirements to the joint legislative budget committee (JLBC) and consolidates others into annual reports, primarily changing quarterly reports to annual September 30 submissions across multiple state agencies and funds.

• Reduces reporting frequency for various state programs including the anti-racketeering revolving fund, postsecondary education fund, transition program release reports, healthcare group program reports, and numerous other agency compliance and financial reports.

• Removes prior approval requirements for certain state contracts and actions, including eliminating JLBC approval for lottery commission office facility acquisitions and state land department central Arizona project water contracts.

• Amends the drug and gang enforcement account to require JLBC approval of expenditure plans before any monies are expended from the account.

• Technical amendments to statutes related to education, corrections, insurance, transportation, and other state programs to streamline reporting obligations and administrative processes.
