AZ HB2017

Prohibits property owners, tenants, employers, and business entities from establishing or enforcing policies that ban lawfully transporting or storing firearms in locked, privately-owned motor vehicles or motorcycles on their property, provided the firearm is not visible from outside the vehicle.

Declares any policy or rule violating this prohibition null and void with no legal force or effect.

Exempts situations where firearm possession is prohibited by federal or state law, where employer-owned vehicles are used by employees without consent, and where compliance would violate other applicable laws.

Exempts properties with secured parking areas that include access restrictions (gates, guards, security measures) and provide readily accessible temporary firearm storage with immediate retrieval capability on exit.

Provides additional exemptions for nuclear generating stations, owner-occupied single-family residences, U.S. Department of Defense contractors on military bases, and employers offering alternative nearby parking at no extra charge for firearm storage.
