HB 2055 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 32-146 regarding malpractice claim review procedures for architects, assayers, engineers, geologists, home inspectors, landscape architects and surveyors.

• Requires plaintiffs' attorneys to forward malpractice complaints to the board along with a report containing defendant names and addresses, plaintiff names and addresses, registrant names and addresses, and a statement of the occurrence.

• Makes the required report non-discoverable and inadmissible as evidence in legal proceedings.

• Directs the board to initiate an investigation upon receiving a report to determine if the registrant violated any provisions of the chapter or board-adopted rules.

• Changes technical language from "names and addresses" (plural) to "name and address" (singular) in subsection B.3 and replaces "promulgated" with "adopted" in subsection D.
