Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 25-1004 to clarify references to the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 (25 U.S.C. § 1903) throughout the statute.

Specifies that child custody proceedings involving Indian children as defined by the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 are not subject to Arizona's child custody chapter to the extent governed by federal law.

Requires Arizona courts to treat Indian tribes with the same legal status as United States states for purposes of applying child custody articles 1, 2, and 3.

Mandates recognition and enforcement of child custody determinations made by tribes that substantially conform to Arizona's jurisdictional standards.
