• Transfers responsibility for operating the mining and mineral museum from the Arizona Historical Society to the Department of Mines and Mineral Resources.

• Authorizes the Department of Mines and Mineral Resources to collect entrance fees from visitors 18 years and older, operate a retail gift shop selling mineral specimens and related items, and employ a museum curator.

• Establishes a separate account within the mines and mineral resources fund to receive and track monies from museum operations for maintenance and operations expenses.

• Repeals sections 41-827 and 41-827.01 of Arizona Revised Statutes and Laws 2010, chapter 227, section 8, which previously governed the centennial museum's operation under the Arizona Historical Society.

• Changes the appointment process for the Department director from gubernatorial appointment to board appointment.
