Changes court authority from "may" to "shall" provide work or school release after defendant serves minimum jail time (24 consecutive hours for first offense, 48 consecutive hours for repeat offense), allowing up to 12 hours per day for no more than 6 days per week if defendant is employed or a student.

Requires court to place findings on the record if it determines good cause exists to deny the work or school release provision.

Increases the maximum number of work/school release days per week from five days to six days.

Applies to convictions under sections 28-1381 (DUI) and 28-1382 (extreme DUI), provided the defendant can continue employment or schooling.
