HB 2389 Summary

• Allows any member of the legislature to access electronic databases of members enrolled in the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and Arizona Long-Term Care System without charge for statistical analysis purposes.

• Permits legislators to request statistical information from the Department of Revenue gathered from confidential tax information, provided it does not disclose information attributable to any specific taxpayer, and such information shall be provided without charge.

• Grants the Joint Legislative Audit Committee access to databases, books, accounts, and other records of state agencies and political subdivisions, consistent with auditor general authority.

• Makes conforming changes to sections 36-2903, 36-2932, 36-2986, 41-1279.04, and 42-2003 to implement legislator access to agency data for statistical and analytical purposes.
