AZ HB2442

Establishes a class 3 felony for knowingly performing an abortion based on the sex of the child, using force to coerce sex-selection abortion, or soliciting/accepting payment for sex-selection abortion.

Requires the person performing an abortion to complete and sign an affidavit stating the abortion is not based on the child's sex, which must also be signed by the woman receiving the abortion.

Authorizes the attorney general or county attorney to seek injunctions against sex-selection abortion activity and permits the father (if married to the mother) or maternal grandparents (if mother is under 18) to bring civil action for damages.

Requires physicians, physician's assistants, nurses, counselors, and other medical professionals to report known or suspected violations to law enforcement or face class 6 felony charges for failure to report.

Exempts the pregnant woman from criminal or civil liability for violations of this section and clarifies the act does not establish or recognize a right to abortion.
