AZ HCR2015

Arizona Legislature applies to Congress under Article V of the U.S. Constitution to call a convention for proposing a constitutional amendment requiring majority approval from state legislatures for any increase in federal debt.

The amendments convention must be entirely focused on and exclusively limited to proposing the federal debt amendment; no other constitutional changes may be considered.

This application serves as a continuing application under Article V until at least two-thirds of state legislatures have submitted equivalent applications for the same limited convention.

Arizona's Secretary of State is directed to transmit copies of the resolution to the U.S. President, Congressional leadership, Arizona's congressional delegation, and presiding officers of all state legislatures to request their cooperation in applying for the convention.
