Adds evaluation of maternal fatalities associated with pregnancy (deaths of women while pregnant or within one year after pregnancy ends) to the child fatality review team's duties under section 36-3501, subsection C.

Grants the state child fatality review team access to records related to maternal fatalities associated with pregnancy from medical providers and state/local agencies within five days of request by the team chairperson.

Authorizes the department of health services director to apply for subpoenas to compel production of books, records, documents and evidence related to maternal fatality investigations associated with pregnancy.

Extends confidentiality protections to maternal fatality review information and records, making them not subject to subpoena, discovery, or introduction as evidence in civil or criminal proceedings.

Allows team meetings reviewing individual maternal fatality cases to remain closed to the public and exempts them from open meeting law requirements.
