SB 1483 Summary

• Amends off-highway vehicle user indicia requirements to allow owners to obtain either a certificate of title or a tax stamp (replacing the previous July 1, 2009 deadline) for all-terrain vehicles, off-highway vehicles, and off-road recreational motor vehicles.

• Establishes a $2 fee for tax stamps and authorizes the department to prescribe the design of tax stamps by rule.

• Requires persons requesting highway registration for vehicles with a user indicia to have either a certificate of title or tax stamp pursuant to section 28-2061 in order to qualify for registration without paying standard registration fees.

• Maintains existing user fee structure where 70% of off-highway vehicle user fees are deposited into the off-highway vehicle recreation fund and 30% into the Arizona highway user revenue fund.
